Trigeminal testimonial 2

Micro-Vascular Decompression (MVD) is a very effective treatment for Trigeminal Neuralgia, which is mostly a permanent cure. This is the testimonial of a patient who suffered from Trigeminal neuralgia. He has undergone MVD and here he talks about the TN pain that he had previously suffered:

“I suffered from a disease called Trigeminal Neuralgia or severe facial pain. This pain is indeed unbearable. I suffered from this severe pain for two and a half years. I cannot begin to explain the unbearable, severe pain that I had, sometimes in the teeth, sometimes in the nose, sometimes in the eye. This pain used to be like a lightning or electric shock and very severe in intensity. This pain would come on very suddenly, while I was talking or chewing or brushing teeth, washing my face, or even with the touch of breeze! My face would suddenly distort in pain and I would freeze, and the persons near me would think I was crazy. People with me could not understand why I suddenly behaved peculiarly and neither could they understand that a pain could be so severe or disabling.  There was no external manifestation of this pain and so I could not point out to anything abnormal on my face that they could relate to. I consulted many doctors, and mostly they had an opinion that the pain may be of dental origin. I even consulted neurologists and though they did not diagnose me as having Trigeminal Neuralgia, they put me on medicines to control the pain. The medicines only made me sleepy and dizzy but did not take away the pain. In fact, it increased in severity. Initially the pain occurred once in a couple of days, then it occurred every day, then every ten minutes, and towards the end, I had continuous pain. It was around this time that I came across an article written by Dr Jayadev Panchawagh about Trigeminal Neuralgia. In this article, he described the symptoms and I felt that at last I found somebody who knew exactly what I was going through! I suffered hellish pain without a diagnosis for two and a half years. I was on medication but they made me drowsy, forgetful and unproductive. The drugs made my face somewhat numb, and also left me with a constant tingling in right side of my face. At no time in the day or night was I totally symptom-free. Intermittently, the pain was so severe that I would cry.

It is now 18to 20 months since my Micro Vascular Decompression (MVD) operation for treatment of my Trigeminal Neuralgia. I have had no pain whatsoever on the face since then. In fact the pain stopped immediately after the MVD surgery. If there is anyone out there who is suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia, my sincere advise to them is to get MVD surgery done, because it is the only treatment worth its while and is permanent”.
