Sanjay Kate’s Trigeminal Neuralgia interview

My name is Sanjay Manohar Kate. I am 50 years old. I hail from Satara district in Maharashtra, India. I have been suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia for the last 18 to 21 months. Initially the pain started just below my right eye, going towards the right side of my nose and upper teeth on the right side. Nearly the entire right side of my face was painful. Initially I took some painkillers given by a doctor, but this did not relieve me of my pain. Over a period of time, the painful episodes increased in number and intensity. I could not shave or touch the right side of my face or eat or drink or brush my teeth! The pains increased despite being on medication. In fact the medication made my brain numb. The Micro Vascular Decompression surgery (MVD) was done behind my right ear. I was instantly relieved of the Trigeminal Neuralgia pain after the operation. I could not believe what a changed man I had become in 24 hours.

I believe that many people who suffer from this unbearable facial pain called Trigeminal Neuralgia are not aware that there is a permanent treatment or permanent cure for it.

I got my MRI done on 12 March, got operated on 19th March and from the night of the 19th itself, I am 100% pain-free!!
